DeLise is the co-founder of Beyond Excellence, a national consulting firm they started in 2005, that specializes in corporate wellness, health management, non-profit management, and human capital training and development. Prior to founding Beyond Excellence, DeLise led the local Operation HOPE team, providing financial literacy tools and services for economic empowerment in underserved communities. DeLise was appointed by former DC Mayor Anthony A. Williams to serve as his policy and legislative analyst on issues relating to children, youth, families, and elders. Her areas of emphasis included adult and family literacy, and city- wide strategic planning. DeLise spends her free time traveling the world, enjoying her book clubs, and volunteering for her alma mater, Stanford University, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, a public service sorority. She has served as President of the Stanford NationalBlack Alumni Association and currently co-chairs the DC leadership team for OVAL, an initiative of the Stanford Office of Undergraduate Admissions. She earned both a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and a master’s degree in Sociology from Stanford.
